What the district announced

Clark County School District Superintendent Jhone Ebert told employees Sept. 25 that all current staff would have a district position for the remainder of the 2026–27 school year. The district attributed that assurance to an emergency state order addressing midyear budget reductions.

Work locations can still change

The district said enrollment shifts could still lead to reassignments. Its assurance concerned retaining positions across CCSD, not a promise that every employee would stay at the same campus.

The longer-term question remains

CCSD said it had faced a $51.6 million reduction connected to declining enrollment and compensation costs. Ebert said future adjustments would still be needed. The district also described a proposed 2027 legislative change to base funding on the previous year's actual enrollment, an effort it says could reduce disruptive fall budget changes. That proposal is not enacted policy in this report.
