What was announced

Henderson announced Sept. 17 that it had contracted with HomeServe's Service Line Warranties of America to offer residents optional protection plans for water and sewer service-line repairs. FOX5 reported the announcement the same evening.

Why homeowners are being contacted

The city's announcement says owners are responsible for some portions of utility lines on private property. It says leaks, blockages and similar problems can create repair bills that standard homeowners insurance often does not cover.

Participation is a choice

The city says SLWA is an independent third-party provider. Plans can cover eligible repairs, and options for interior plumbing and drainage are also described. The announcement does not establish that every repair will be covered.

Read the actual offer

Before buying, residents should compare the plan documents with any coverage they already have and review covered components, exclusions, claim limits and cancellation terms. That is a practical step for evaluating this offer, not a conclusion that the product is suitable for every household. The city's utility-service-line page is the starting point for verifying the partnership and finding the official offer.
