An opening with a community element
Her Story Through Art opens with a public reception celebrating female-identifying artists connected to Las Vegas. Curators Joan De Santis and Amanda “Rawky” Lozano bring together work centered on women’s contributions to the city’s arts community.
Visitors can meet participating artists, hear DJ Lo Dino and have light refreshments. Janel Raihl and Robin Slonina are also creating an interactive element: guests write encouraging messages on heart-shaped pieces of paper and place them in mailboxes around the reception.
Plan for the reception
The free event runs from 5 to 7 p.m. on October 10 at the Civic Center outdoor plaza. All ages are welcome. The city’s event page includes a registration link. These hours describe the opening reception; they are not a confirmed schedule for every subsequent exhibition visit.
