The sentence and guilty plea

A federal judge sentenced Denzel Brishard Jones to 70 months in prison for three armed bank robberies in the Las Vegas area, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for Nevada announced October 8. U.S. District Judge Jennifer A. Dorsey imposed the sentence.

Jones had pleaded guilty to three counts of armed bank robbery. Unlike an arrest or indictment, the convictions described here resulted from his guilty plea; the sentence is not merely an allegation.

Three robberies over 17 days

Federal prosecutors said the robberies occurred between January 9 and January 25, 2025, at banks in North Las Vegas and Henderson. According to the government’s account, Jones displayed an XBG BB gun and made threats during the robberies.

The Justice Department’s public release does not identify the bank branches or state the amount taken from each location. This report does not infer that any particular bank shown in an archival photograph was involved.

A co-defendant’s case is not finished

The government says a co-defendant identified in court records as Tru’Shauna Outlaw also pleaded guilty. Her sentencing is scheduled for December 10, 2026.

A guilty plea establishes the offenses to which that defendant pleaded, but the judge will determine the sentence at the later hearing. The FBI, Henderson Police Department and North Las Vegas Police Department investigated the robberies.
