A return, not a brand-new restaurant

Lotus of Siam returned to its original Commercial Center address in May 2026. Opening coverage identified May 8 as the return date, and a later report documented a June 4 ribbon cutting. Those are separate milestones in the restaurant’s reopening.

The distinction is useful when searching older news: a story about the ceremony does not mean service first began in June. The restaurant’s original neighborhood setting is part of why the return matters to longtime diners.

The cooking behind the name

Lotus’s official history says Saipin and Bill Chutima took over the restaurant in November 1999. The restaurant highlights Saipin’s northern Thai cooking and family recipes, including stews and curries that differ from the sweeter Bangkok styles the site discusses.

Garlic prawns and a substantial wine selection also appear prominently on the official site. Those descriptions identify what the business emphasizes; this article does not claim that a particular dish is unchanged from earlier years or that every historic menu item remains available.

Choose the intended address

The original location is in Commercial Center on East Sahara Avenue. Confirm the branch when booking or arranging a meeting: coverage of other Lotus of Siam locations can otherwise create confusion. The restaurant provides reservation and contact information on its official site, which is the best starting point for current service details.
