Students take the stage
Mariachi Alas Doradas de Keller, the ensemble from Keller Middle School, performs at the Civic Center outdoor plaza on October 8. Directors Miriam Vázquez and Emily Vargas lead the group, which has represented Las Vegas in regional and national competitions.
The city lists first-place finishes at Berkeley’s 2024 Encuentro del Mariachi and the University of San Diego’s 2026 national competition, plus second place at the 2026 Mariachi Extravaganza.
A free midday outing
The performance runs from noon to 1 p.m. and is open to all ages. Food trucks are planned; attendees can sit at tables or bring a blanket or low-back chair for the lawn. Food purchases are separate from free admission.
Pets and glass containers are not permitted. The city’s listing provides registration and confirms the outdoor plaza address at 525 South Main Street.
