What to expect
The Summerlin Festival of Arts returns October 9–11, giving west-valley residents three days to browse work by more than 100 artists. The 2026 edition marks the event’s 30th anniversary and will take place on the Lawn at Downtown Summerlin.
Organizers say a jury selected the participating fine artists from across the country. Family activities are also part of the announced program, making the festival a daytime outing for households with interests beyond buying artwork.
Artists and activities to look for
The anniversary edition includes several distinct approaches to making art. Michael Panetta creates glass wall sculptures influenced by ocean movement, while Arunas Oslapas works with reclaimed materials. The organizer describes Oslapas’s pieces as woven metal baskets and sculptural quilts made from materials including rusted steel, discarded street signs and other found objects.
Christopher Roche is another featured artist, working in acrylic painting with an emphasis on color and realism. Las Vegas photographer Nataniel Stepniewski brings a different view of the Southwest: landscapes and night skies captured together in single exposures. Those examples give visitors a sense of the range across painting, photography, glass and mixed-media work before they reach the booths.
The festival began at Summerlin Centre Community Park and has taken place on the Lawn since 2015, according to the organizer’s anniversary account. Its juried format means the artist selection is reviewed rather than simply allocated to anyone who signs up for a booth.
Opening-day programming includes live outdoor painting demonstrations, according to FOX5’s September preview. Saturday adds The Art of the Classic Car along Festival Plaza Drive, while the Las Vegas Farmers Market has extended weekend hours. These additions give visitors interested in the making of art, automotive design or shopping a reason to compare the days before choosing one.
The organizer has published three separate planning resources: an event guide, artist directory and map. The directory identifies booth locations, useful for finding a particular artist rather than trying to cover the full show in one pass. Families can also look for the advertised children’s activities. The event’s food-and-beverage vendors are drawn from existing Downtown Summerlin businesses.
Plan your visit
The published hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Those hours are the same on all three days, so visitors can choose a morning or afternoon window without having to navigate an evening schedule. Admission is free.
The organizer’s event page is the place to check for any final program changes. Individual artist prices and a detailed activity timetable were not established in the listing reviewed for this preview.
