A finished phase of the larger renovation

The Resort at Summerlin says its expanded casino floor is now open at 221 North Rampart Boulevard. The October 6 announcement describes more than 3,000 additional square feet with 107 new gaming machines, the new Elyx Bar and a rebuilt Summerlin Room.

This is a completed opening rather than a proposal or construction forecast. The operator places it within a continuing $75 million, multi-year renovation, so the casino-floor debut should not be read as the end of every project at the property.

What changed on the casino floor

The former Summerlin Bar has been replaced by Elyx Bar, a partnership with Absolut Vodka. The resort says the bar sits at the center of the casino and combines bar-top gaming with a menu of signature cocktails; its announcement did not publish separate operating hours for the bar.

The new machines and added entertainment space increase the casino footprint, while design and seating changes are intended to refresh the existing floor. The property’s current homepage also promotes the expansion as open, corroborating the dated news release.

The Summerlin Room has limited access

The reimagined Summerlin Room occupies the former Clubhouse Deli space and has a larger floor plan and more privacy than its previous location, according to the operator. It is not a general public lounge: access is limited to Summerlin, Summerlin Premier and Summerlin Elite cardholders.

The operator lists the lounge’s current hours as 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. daily. Those hours and eligibility rules can change, so guests planning specifically around the lounge should confirm them with the property before traveling.

What visitors should know

The resort is in west Las Vegas near the Summerlin Parkway and Rampart Boulevard area. The casino shares the broader resort complex with the JW Marriott Las Vegas hotel, but the operator states that the casino is not part of the JW Marriott system.

The October 6 grand-opening drawings, cake and champagne were one-day promotions and are no longer current offers. Visitors should use the resort’s live promotions and rewards pages for anything time-sensitive rather than relying on the opening-day announcement.
