A neighborhood gathering place

The city of Las Vegas has outlined plans for The Good Word Social Club at D Street and Madison Avenue, combining food, entertainment and community programming in the Historic Westside. An August 19 city update describes a market hall centered on local vendors.

The announced design includes 8,997 square feet of interior space, a 2,400-square-foot second-floor mezzanine and four stalls reserved for small business incubation. The city says $8.7 million has been appropriated through its Redevelopment Agency and Neighborhood Services Choice Communities funding.

A schedule that needs an update

The city’s August post lists planned construction dates earlier in the year, an October 2026 completion target and an anticipated certificate of occupancy by November. Those entries describe the published schedule; they do not confirm that work reached each milestone.

For residents and prospective vendors, the useful next update will be an occupancy or opening announcement and information about how the business stalls are assigned. Until then, The Good Word should be treated as a planned neighborhood destination, with the city’s timing attributed rather than presented as a completed opening.
