An August arrival at Durango
Villa’s Tacos opened at Durango Casino & Resort on August 15, placing the Los Angeles taqueria inside the southwest resort’s Eat Your Heart Out food hall. Station Casinos announced the opening, and Eater later reported on the debut.
The new venue is the brand’s first outside Los Angeles, according to the resort. Founder Victor Villa developed the business from a family-centered operation in Highland Park before expanding into restaurant locations.
What the opening menu offered
Station’s announcement described tacos, queso tacos and mulitas made with blue corn tortillas. Listed fillings included beef, pork, chicken, soyrizo, potatoes and beans with cactus. The variety creates choices beyond meat, although diners should confirm preparation and toppings when ordering for a specific dietary need.
The operator also described toppings such as crema and cotija. A vegetable-based filling therefore should not automatically be treated as a vegan completed order without checking.
The taco’s structure is part of its identity
Durango’s restaurant page describes the brand’s combination of homemade blue corn tortillas and a crisp Monterey Jack cheese skirt, with beans, protein and a series of fresh toppings. That combination helps explain why the distinctions among a taco, queso taco and mulita matter when comparing choices; they are different formats rather than merely different names for a filling.
The operator traces Victor Villa’s early cooking to his grandmother’s recipes and the front yard of her Highland Park home. The resort’s introduction frames the Las Vegas opening as the next step in that business’s expansion. References to Michelin recognition in that account describe the established Los Angeles business; they should not be converted into a claim that the new Durango counter has received its own separate award.
How the food hall changes the visit
Eat Your Heart Out spans 25,000 square feet, according to Durango’s official description. It brings the taco counter into a shared dining setting with other operators, including Irv’s Burgers, Prince Street Pizza, Shang Artisan Noodle and Yu-Or-Mi Sushi. That mix can make the location useful for a group whose members want different cuisines.
The food hall also lists Vesta Coffee and Nielsen’s Frozen Custard, so coffee or dessert need not come from the taco counter itself. Each business has its own menu and service schedule; the hall’s existence does not mean every counter serves at the same time.
Villa’s current resort page lists service beginning at 11 a.m. daily, ending at midnight Sunday through Thursday and at 2 a.m. Friday and Saturday. Its listed contact number is 702-567-7841. Confirm late-night hours directly on holidays or before a dedicated trip.
Use the Vegas menu
The Durango location is at 6915 South Durango Drive. Villa’s own menu page for its original locations explicitly says that menu is exclusive to Locations I and II, so it should not be used as a guaranteed Las Vegas price list.
Consult the resort’s location page for current service details. August’s ribbon cutting and complimentary opening-day plates were one-time activities, not ongoing promotions.
