What the mayor reported
Henderson Mayor Michelle Romero said the Reimagine Boulder Highway project is more than 71 percent complete and remains within budget, with completion still expected in August 2027. She gave that update during her October 14 State of the City address, according to FOX5.
Romero also reported upgraded signals at 17 intersections and nearly 20,000 feet of underground storm drains. These figures describe the city’s reported progress; they are not an independent construction audit.
The scheduled Major Avenue closure window
The official project’s October 15 construction bulletin scheduled the Boulder Highway and Major Avenue intersection closure from 7 p.m. Friday, October 16, until 7 p.m. Saturday, October 17, Pacific time, for milling and paving. The bulletin says access to businesses and residences would be maintained.
That is the published closure window, not confirmation that the intersection has reopened. Drivers should check the project website and current travel notices before relying on the scheduled end. The project information line is 702-405-6822. The notice concerns this intersection, not the entire highway.
The larger corridor project
The official project description covers 7.5 miles and includes center-running transit lanes, passenger shelters, drainage work, lighting and buffered bicycle lanes. The current website also lists temporary bus-stop relocations and directs riders to transit alerts. Road construction and transit changes can follow different schedules, so riders should check their specific stop before leaving.
