The ribbon-cutting has taken place
Henderson Sport & Social held its ribbon-cutting Thursday, October 15, News 3 reported. The ceremony is distinct from the previously announced soft-opening period and the October 16–17 grand-opening celebrations.
The operator’s current website says visitors can use the Social House, register for sports programs or book an experience without a facility membership. Fitness Center access requires membership. Individual attractions and sports programs may still have charges; general access does not mean every activity is free.
Two opening dates to distinguish
Henderson Sport & Social announced a soft opening beginning October 5, ahead of its October 16 grand opening. The venue’s published plan calls for limited hours October 7 and October 15, so residents planning an early visit should check the current schedule.
The 180,000-square-foot complex at 3375 St. Rose Parkway combines indoor recreation and entertainment. Its announced lineup includes convertible basketball courts, indoor turf fields, a fitness center, bowling, mini-golf, laser tag and food and drink options.
Who owns and runs it
The city retains ownership of the property, while KemperSports operates the facility and handles programming under a public-private partnership. The opening announcement describes a $70 million project jointly funded by KemperSports and Henderson through one-time funding sources.
The venue says general public access does not require a membership. That does not mean every activity is free; visitors should review the relevant admission, rental or activity terms before arriving. The development was previously known as the West Henderson Fieldhouse before its new name was announced earlier this year.
A destination for residents and visiting teams
The combination of courts, event space and entertainment is intended to serve both everyday visits and organized sports. Grand opening weekend plans also include a silent auction benefiting Cure 4 The Kids Foundation. The key development milestone is the transition from a construction project to an operating community facility, with the soft opening and ceremonial celebration separated by eleven days.
Fitness access and resident discounts
The venue began selling fitness memberships in September, with monthly, annual and family options. Its announcement says members receive group classes, priority access to personal training and priority registration for sports leagues. The fitness center’s advertised equipment includes cardio and strength machines, free weights and functional-training space.
A September 8 release announced a 20 percent discount on attractions and fitness memberships for Henderson residents, and a 10 percent attraction discount for members who live outside Henderson. Visitors should check the current offer and proof-of-residency requirements when booking. General access without a membership is different from unlimited use of the gym or paid entertainment.
Child-watch space is another announced feature. Families should check its hours and participation requirements separately from court, restaurant or fitness-center hours; a large multi-use venue does not necessarily operate every service on the same schedule.
Programming begins before the ceremony
The venue announced The Border League as its first major basketball showcase, bringing visiting high-school teams into the building before the ceremonial grand opening. A September 28 release said selected games would appear on ESPN and NBA TV, with additional streaming through BallerTV. Attendance projections in that announcement covered events in both Henderson and Rock Hill, South Carolina, so they should not be read as a local visitor count.
West Henderson Hospital is also the venue’s presenting sponsor under a partnership announced September 14 and scheduled through 2031. The partners describe plans for CPR awareness, injury prevention and family-health education, alongside other wellness programming. These are announced program areas rather than a published timetable for specific classes.
Together, the membership offering, tournament schedule and hospital partnership show how the operator intends to use the building beyond a one-weekend opening celebration. The next practical information for residents is the calendar for particular leagues, classes and activities, including their prices and availability.
