The sentence

Ty’Shaun Meeks received a 33-month federal prison sentence October 5 for unlicensed firearms dealing and fentanyl distribution, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Nevada announced. U.S. District Judge Cristina D. Silva also ordered four years of supervised release.

The office said Meeks had pleaded guilty to one count of engaging in the business of dealing or manufacturing firearms without a license and one count of distributing a controlled substance. The sentence matched the government’s 33-month recommendation.

What the case involved

According to the federal announcement, sales between October and December 2024 included multiple firearms and two machinegun conversion devices. Prosecutors also described the sale of approximately 1,000 fentanyl pills. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives investigated the case.

FOX5 and News 3 separately reported the sentencing announcement. The new development is the court’s October 5 sentence, rather than a new arrest or a claim that the sales happened this week.
