The sentence announced October 6

Ismael Preciado-Granados received an eight-year federal prison sentence Tuesday after pleading guilty to a methamphetamine-distribution conspiracy, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Nevada announced. U.S. District Judge Cristina D. Silva also imposed three years of supervised release.

Prosecutors had requested nine years in prison. The sentence imposed was one year shorter than that recommendation; the announcement does not explain the judge’s reasoning.

The conduct behind the case

According to the federal announcement, Preciado-Granados arranged for co-conspirators to deliver and sell methamphetamine in Las Vegas between March 5 and April 17, 2024. The reported total was between 1.5 and 4.5 kilograms.

He pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine. The Drug Enforcement Administration investigated the case. The new development is the October 6 sentencing, not a newly reported drug transaction or an ongoing public alert.
