A Monday evening without a ticket

UNLV’s NEXTET contemporary chamber-music series will present a free concert Monday, November 2, at 7:30 p.m. Pacific in Rando-Grillot Recital Hall at the Beam Music Center. The university explicitly says no tickets are necessary. The program features faculty, students and alumni performing 20th- and 21st-century concert music.

What is on the program

Artistic director Jennifer Bellor’s announced lineup includes music by Annika Socolofsky, Matthew Nell, Anna Clyne, Colin Marks, Adrienne Albert and Chen Yi. The combinations vary: solo percussion and piano, cello, two pianos, a flute–viola–harp group, oboe and a wind ensemble. This is the published program, not a review of a performance that has already happened.

Finding the hall

The campus map places the recital hall in room BMC 115A at the Lee and Thomas Beam Music Center on UNLV’s Maryland campus, 4505 S. Maryland Parkway, Las Vegas, NV 89154. The map lists nearby visitor/pay and accessible spaces in the Cottage Grove Parking Garage; free concert admission does not establish free parking.

The reviewed release still lists November 2, but gives no end time, age restriction or event-specific accessibility arrangements. Confirm those details with the School of Music and recheck the announcement before traveling. Do not use the older September AIRPLAY calendar listing as this concert’s schedule.
