A public review of a February police-involved death

Clark County has scheduled a Police Fatality Public Fact-Finding Review concerning the death of Quinton Baker for Wednesday, October 28, at 9 a.m. Pacific. The county says Baker died during an incident involving Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department officers on February 3, 2026.

The review will take place in the commission chambers at the Clark County Government Center, 500 S. Grand Central Parkway. Hearing officer Ozzie Fumo will preside, Josh Tomsheck will serve as ombudsman, Hilary Heap will represent the District Attorney’s Office and Detective Brian Walter will participate, according to the county notice.

What the review does — and does not decide

The county describes this process as a public presentation of essential facts after the District Attorney’s Office has preliminarily determined that criminal prosecution of the involved officer or officers is not appropriate. Prosecutors present witnesses; the presiding officer and ombudsman may ask questions. The ombudsman represents the public and the deceased person’s family during the review.

This is not a trial and the hearing does not issue a formal determination about the manner or cause of death. People attending may submit proposed written questions on forms available at the review. The presiding officer may ask, revise or decline a submitted question under the county’s stated procedure.

How to watch

Clark County says the review will air live on Clark County Television and stream through the county’s YouTube channel. The notice lists Cox channel 4 in Las Vegas, Optimum channel 14 in Laughlin, channel 4 in Boulder City and digital channel 50.3 in Moapa Valley.

The scheduled time and participant list come from the county’s October 21 notice. Recheck the official page before attending or watching in case the county changes the hearing details.
